As the visions during the night continued, I saw One like a son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; When he reached the Ancient One
and was presented before him, He received dominion, glory, and kingship; nations and peoples of every language serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed. (Dan 7:2-14)

The question facing modern day faith is what type of kingship and dominion are we talking about. There are some folks who really want an earthly kingdom and the ability to destroy all their enemies, real or imagined. Perhaps the vision of Christ the King whose throne is a Cross and whose dominion embraces every person with love, might not be exactly what they bargained for.
These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.
