These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.

Then they asked him, "Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?" He answered, "See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, 'I am he,' and 'The time has come.' Do not follow them! When you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; for such things must happen first, but it will not immediately be the end." (Lk 21:5-11)

A little deja vu with the lectionary, we just heard this passage a couple of Sundays ago. But it’s always good to hear it again, because the message is very important in these days when folks keep thinking it’s the end of the world. https://youtu.be/CprYUY9RQ_0?si=qj6b8BwZpfNUKNII
