While they were all amazed at his every deed, Jesus said to his disciples, "Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men." But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. (Lk 9:43b-45)

The Cross is a difficult road that many do not understand. Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) understood the Cross very well as a journey to be shared by accompanying the poor. He had the gift of inspiring others to follow Christ by serving the poor. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society is an on-going testimony to Vincent’s faith. https://youtu.be/GTP0KPi6MYU?si=Tpe0iO8R2-_-kVWL
These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.
