These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.

We are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Cor 5:20-6:2)

The Day of Salvation is NOW. God invites us into this NOW where the fullness of God’s love for us in Christ is revealed. NOW is the acceptable time, in one sense it is the only moment we truly have. Our fasting, prayer and works of charity are an expression of our thanksgiving to God for such wondrous Love. May you have a joyful Lent! We pray for our Holy Father, Pope Francis.
