When this which is corruptible clothes itself with incorruptibility and this which is mortal clothes itself with immortality, then the word that is written shall come about: Death is swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor 15:54-58)

What does the death and resurrection of Jesus mean for us? Saint Paul spells it out: God has won the victory for us in our Lord Jesus Christ. Everything has changed. We are indeed “pilgrims of hope” which is the theme of this Holy Year that Pope Francis has proclaimed. We continue to pray for the health of our Holy Father.
These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.
