These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.

Responsorial Psalm (Ps 94)
R. The Lord will not abandon his people.

Shall he who shaped the ear not hear?
or he who formed the eye not see?

R. The Lord will not abandon his people.

As the Psalmist reflects on the wonder of creation in the midst of dire political events, we hear the comforting message: “The LORD will not cast off his people, nor abandon his inheritance.” And why? Because the Lord always listens to us attentively . . . the Lord always looks at us with compassion. And as Jesus reminds us, the Lord of heaven and earth has hidden these things from the wise and the learned and has revealed them to little children.
