These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.

Jesus said to his disciples: “Where I am going you know the way." Thomas said to him, "Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (Jn 14:1-6)

The Way, the Truth, the Life. Jesus shows us the way to live authentically, to truthfully be the persons God created us to be. That Way is to “live no longer for ourselves but for him who died and rose again for us” (Eucharistic Prayer IV). Jesus, who came not “to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mk 10:45). The Way is the Way of Service. As the old hymn sings, “They will know we are Christians by our love!”
