Welcome

These reflections are a result of more than 40 years of ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. Most of these years I spent in the Diocese of Charlotte which covers Western North Carolina. Now I am retired, and live in Medellín, Colombia where I continue to serve as a priest in the Archdiocese of Medellín.

TUESDAY, WEEK XXII, ORDINARY TIME

We have not received the spirit of the world
but the Spirit who is from God,
. . . .
[For] we have the mind of Christ. (1 Cor 2:12-16)

To have the mind and heart of Christ . . . to be able to see this world through the compassionate eyes of Jesus. As Saint Teresa of Ávila said:

"Christ has no body now, but yours.
No hands, no feet on earth, but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which
Christ looks compassion into the world.
 Yours are the feet
with which Christ walks to do good.
Yours are the hands
with which Christ blesses the world."

Yours is the heart with which Christ loves the world.
